Software Engineer. Problem Solver.

My name is Paul Dorsch and I'm a Computer Science major currently in my fourth year at Georgia Institute of Technology and on track to graduate in the December 2019. My 2 Threads are Intelligence and People, since I enjoy working on both computational models of artificial intelligence and the design of people oriented systems and software. I have taken classes involved with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, and continue to develop my knowledge of these fields because I find them extremely interesting.

I began programming my freshman year of high school, and have continued working on projects since then. I have worked on many Computer Science group projects and work very well with others. I've participated in 2 programming competitions and 1 hackathon, all of which have boosted my teamwork and leadership. During summers of 2017 and 2018, I was a software developer intern in Chicago for a small Google Partner called Cloudbakers. Then, in the Spring of 2019 I worked as a Content Supply Chain Software Engineer for Turner broadcasting. At Turner I mainly worked on improving an internal API and was able to cut response times for certain information retrieval from 15 seconds to less than 1.

I consider my drive to learn new skills that help improve my work to be one of the pillars I try to uphold in my life. I am also a great asset to teams because I have considerable communication and leadership skills that allow me to excel in group based work and work well with clients. When it comes to programming, I enjoy working with any of the following:

  • JavaScript, Python, Java
  • Web Design using HTML, CSS, JQuery, the Django framework, React, Node, Mongo, and Express
